Industrial Electrician Services for Plants & Factories

Motor control, switchgear, reticulation and shutdown work for Gauteng's production facilities — planned properly, executed safely and handed over with the paperwork your safety file demands.

Industrial Electrical Contractors

Built for Environments Where Downtime Is Measured in Rands per Minute

A tripped breaker in a house is an inconvenience. On a packaging line it's a stopped shift, a missed dispatch and an awkward call to a customer. As an industrial electrician team serving Gauteng's factories, mills and distribution centres for over fifteen years, we build our entire service around keeping production moving.

Our electricians are at home in MCC rooms, on cable racks ten metres up, and inside control panels where one mislabelled core can cost a morning of production. We work to SANS 10142-1 and the OHS Act, we arrive with calibrated test instruments, and we leave behind as-built drawings your next contractor will thank you for.

Plant engineers across Midrand, the East Rand and the Vaal corridor use us for both project work and breakdowns, precisely because the same standard applies to each.

Industrial Electrician Capabilities, From MCC to Machine

The scope we handle in-house, without subcontracting the difficult parts away:

  • Motor control centres (MCCs). New MCC builds, bucket modifications, upgrades and fault repairs.
  • Motor installation & control. Mounting, alignment support, DOL and star-delta starters, protection settings.
  • VSDs & soft starters. Sizing, retrofits, programming and commissioning for smoother starts and lower energy use.
  • PLC & control wiring. Panel wiring, I/O terminations, field instrumentation loops and fault tracing.
  • Transformers & switchgear. Installation, terminations, protection coordination and scheduled testing.
  • Cable racking & reticulation. Racking, trenching, glanding and termination of LV power across the plant.
  • Machine installations & relocations. Disconnection, move support and recommissioning when lines are reconfigured.
  • Power factor correction. Capacitor bank installation and repair to cut reactive energy penalties on your municipal account.
  • Plant lighting & high-bay. High-bay LED conversions and emergency lighting that meet working-lux requirements.

Shutdowns & Live Work, Run by the Book

Industrial electrical work is unforgiving of shortcuts, so we don't take any. Every job starts with a documented method statement and risk assessment. Isolations follow a strict lockout/tagout procedure with permits to work, and circuits are proven dead before a single termination is touched, exactly as the OHS Act and your own safety system require.

Where live testing or fault finding is unavoidable, it happens under a live-work permit, with the right PPE and a second electrician present. Your safety officer gets the paperwork before we start, not after the audit finds it missing.

Planned Maintenance & Thermal Imaging

Most plant failures announce themselves weeks in advance — as a hot joint, a discoloured lug or a motor drawing more current than its nameplate allows. Our thermal imaging surveys scan DBs, MCCs and terminations under load and flag those failures before they stop production. Findings come back as a photographed, prioritised report you can act on at the next planned stop.

Many clients pair this with a scheduled maintenance contract, which keeps inspection records, test certificates and COCs current for insurers and auditors. To put one in place for your facility, call 0861 995 088 or request a site assessment.

How an Industrial Job Runs on Your Site

01Phase 1

Site Assessment

We walk the plant with your engineer, measure what matters and confirm constraints like shutdown windows and access.

02Phase 2

Method Statement & Quote

You receive an itemised quote with a method statement, risk assessment and programme attached.

03Phase 3

Execution

Work proceeds under permit, to programme, with daily reporting to your nominated contact.

04Phase 4

Testing, COC & Handover

Everything is tested, certified and handed over with test results, certificates and as-builts for your file.

Straight Answers for Plant & Facility Managers

Only when isolation is genuinely impossible and a live-work permit is in place. Our default is lockout, tagout and proving dead before anyone touches a conductor, as the OHS Act expects.

Yes. Give us the window and we plan backwards from your restart time, with labour, materials, testing and contingency all scheduled before the first isolation happens.

Method statements, risk assessments, electrician registration details, proof of insurance, test results and Certificates of Compliance for completed work. Everything an auditor expects to find, in the format your safety officer asks for.

Yes. We size the drive to the motor and the application, install screened cabling to limit interference, programme ramps and protection settings, and commission the drive under load.

We do. Planned maintenance contracts cover scheduled inspections, thermal imaging of boards and MCCs, and a compliance file kept current, with agreed response times for breakdowns.
